BBC Broadcaster Sian Lloyd is both a popular presenter and respected journalist. Sian has been a face of BBC News for more than ten years and currently presents the flagship TV news programme 'Wales Today' (BBC One Wales).
This year Sian was chosen to be a launch presenter of the high profile new BBC 8 pm Summary - which she continues to host. She has reported for both the One o'clock and Six O'clock News.
A radio broadcaster too, Sian has worked on Radio 4's 'Today' Programme, as well as BBC Wales' 'Good Morning' and 'Good Evening Wales'.
An experienced LIVE broadcaster, Sian was asked to cover the emerging political scene in Wales for the Dimbleby General Election Results Night Programme (BBC1).
Sian is a popular host for Award ceremonies and her composure under pressure makes her a perfect choice for compere or for chairing conferences.
Sian is in demand in Wales and further afield. She has recently worked in London and Madrid, hosting high profile international events. She will host a three day conference in Berlin this year.
Sian speaks Welsh and French, and has a LLB in law. She trained as a solicitor in London and Hong Kong before becoming a journalist.
Sian supports the Prince's Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and was delighted to be asked by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh to present the Gold Awards, on his behalf, at St James' Palace.
Sian is also the Ambassador for George Thomas Hospice Care.
Sian grew up in Wrexham but now lives in Cardiff with her husband and son.
