Warm, witty and intelligent, Louise is best known for her outstanding journalism, particularly in the field of consumer affairs.
While Louise was presenter of the popular BBC1 TV show X-Ray, the programme won a Bafta Cymru award for best magazine programme and Louise earned the title of Consumer Journalist of the Year from the influential Trading Standards Institute.
Louise now hosts BBC Radio Wales’ flagship programme ‘Jamie and Louise’ – a live, 3-hour magazine show with co-presenter Jamie Owen. Popular music, great interviews, good advice and Louise’s wicked sense of humour take listeners from 9am until 12 noon every weekday!
Louise is an accomplished interviewer – comfortable in the company of politicians, celebrities and especially the listeners, who Louise says give her radio show that extra magic.
Before she moved into broadcasting, Louise spent 10-years writing for newspapers. She was awarded the Young Journalist of the Year title twice for her war reporting from Bosnia and by the age of just 26, worked on the news desk at the Liverpool Daily Post – running three editions of the paper.
Shortly after moving to the BBC, Louise worked at Television Centre in London as a network news correspondent, where she covered everything from The Budget and the foot and mouth crisis, to sailor Ellen MacArthur’s triumphant homecoming – all live broadcasts.
During her career in journalism, Louise has also specialised in health and education issues. She has presented BBC Wales’ investigative current affairs series, ‘Week In Week Out', where she became known for her skills in tracking down those who had previously refused to answer questions.
Mum to two girls and step-mum to another, Louise was brought up on Anglesey but now lives with her partner and children in Cardiff.
Louise is an extremely interesting speaker and is greatly in demand as host at high profile events.
