Vivacious television presenter, Claire Summers, is a familiar face on BBC Wales' flagship news programme, ‘Wales Today’. Claire enjoys a much varied role on the programme from anchoring the main slot to doing a whole range of live broadcasts from out and about. Claire also presents 2W news and sport.  With her easy going personality and highly tuned sense of humour, Claire is extremely popular with viewers and colleagues alike.

Claire is passionate about news, and enjoys the challenge of a hard story but, at the same time, has a lighter touch. She has anchored ‘Wales Today’ from the National Eisteddfod for several years. and also delighted viewers and visitors to the Royal Welsh Show.  She had been asked to enter a Heifer in the main ring and, although she found it a bit of a challenge, she did turn up trumps.    Claire is also a very keen sports fan, with only girls in the family, she wasn't left with much choice. She often covers the Sports Correspondent slot.

Claire was brought up in Cowbridge and went to school in Cardiff. She was educated at Aberystwyth University and, after completing a post-graduate in journalism, her first job was at Channel One Television in Bristol, where she was reporting, filming, editing and presenting in the first week.  She has been at BBC Wales for six years.

Claire has recently been offered the position of sports presenter on the very popular BBC ‘Wales Today’ news programme.  With her keen interest in sport, Claire was delighted to accept and a really good job she is doing too.

Claire is an extremely fascinating after dinner speaker as her interests are wide and varied. She is also much in demand as host of high profile events. With her professionalism, beauty and strong interactional personality she is a great hit with her audience and event organisers alike.
