Popular television presenter, Alex Lovell, is the daily evening news anchor for BBC Points West. In addition to reading the news, Alex’s role includes interviewing guests and broadcasting live from a wide range of major events - from an Education special to Children In Need.
Alex also presents ‘Front of House’ a weekly round of up arts and entertainment, interviewing stars of stage and screen. Until very recently, Alex presented Five's exciting daily live quiz show, ‘Brainteaser’, which was on air for five years.
Alex is an extremely versatile broadcaster and has presented television across many genres including light entertainment, news and current affairs, children’s quizzes and shopping. These have been in different formats, live and pre-record; on location or in studios; scripted and improvised.
Her seductive voice is used in a diverse range of programmes including Ch4’s award winning ‘Deal Or No Deal’, Ch5’s new format ‘In The Grid’, E4’s ‘Fool Around With…’ and Discovery’s ‘The Wedding Planners’.
Alex has also hosted many ‘high profile’ live events including a concert at The Royal Albert Hall in aid of Barnardos; The Wiltshire and other Business Awards and, in front of an audience of 15,000, ‘The Disney Kids Awards’ at London Arena.
