Jamie Owen

Broadcaster and Journalist Jamie Owen anchors the TV news on TRT World.  The channel broadcasts to a global audience in 190 countries.

Previously Jamie Owen anchored the countries most watched TV News programme BBC Wales Today. Jamie has fronted the corporation's high profile Election Campaigns, Referendums, Royal visits and breaking news stories for tweny years.  He has anchored coverage of the NATO Summit, The Olympic Torch Ceremony and The Ryder Cup.

As a documentary maker, his notable series have included projects as diverse as - sailing around the coast of Western Britain - to investigating Britain's addiction to sugar.  Landrover - the Great Welsh Idea and The Rolls Royce Garage of Snowdonia are amoung recent programmes.

Jamie has worked extensively overseas for BBC World Service Trust, BBC Media Action, advising television news stations in Libya, Egypt, Jordan and Berlin. 

Jamie Owen is the author of five books about sailing voyages and the landsape of Wales - the most recent "The B Roads and By-Ways of Wales" - is published by Random House.  Jamie's next book - A year in PEMBROKESHIRE - with photographer David Wilson is launched at the Hay Festival 2018.

Jamie is an experienced Conference Chairman - most recently Hosting the UK's Finance Conference with the Prime Minister and the First Minister at Celtic Manor. He's also an experienced After Dinner Speaker.

Jamie began his broadcasting career on BBC Radio 4 where he read the news and the shipping forecast.  He has toured extensively with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and narrated Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf for BBC Radio Three.
