"First choice in television and radio presenters for corporate events" - Speakers Unlimited

Ashleigh Crowter

Ashleigh Crowter is the sports reporter and presenter for BBC Wales Today, Wales' flagship television news programme. Ashleigh is regularly seen on screen, following Wales' top sport stars around the world.

In the last five years, Ashleigh's been on the spot with live reports from the biggest events. He has covered the last two Olympic Games in Beijing and London, the rise of Wales' Grand Slam champions at the World Cup in New Zealand, and a golden period for Welsh football - with two promotions to the Premier League, cup success and Gareth Bale's world record transfer to Real Madrid.

"There's never been a better time to be a Welsh sports reporter," Ashleigh says. "Who would have believed ten years ago that Wales would have hosted the Ryder Cup, an Ashes test and Premier League football all in the space of a few years?"

Ashleigh Crowter is also proud of his support for minority sports, providing welcome coverage to successful Welsh athletes whose achievements deserve wider recognition.

Ashleigh started his career as a trainee with BBC News before moving into sports journalism. His big-break came in 2008, succeeding the late and much-missed Welsh broadcasting legend Bob Humphrys on Wales Today.

Ashleigh has also presented the Welsh Open snooker for BBC television and pops up occasionally on BBC Radio Wales as a cricket commentator.

Ashleigh Crowter is a genial and professional host for events and conferences. He has worked at sports dinners and business awards ceremonies around Wales and also chaired political debates and election hustings.

After reporting on such an exciting period for Welsh sport, Ashleigh also has a wealth of entertaining stories from a life spent following our top sport stars.

In his spare time, Ashleigh plays cricket and tennis, although rugby will always be his first love, having played and watched the game in Wales, England and France.

Ashleigh lives in Cardiff and is married with twin sons and a daughter.
